Caravaca de la Cruz, located in the Region of Murcia, is one of the five holy cities of Christianity, alongside Rome, Jerusalem, Santiago de Compostela, and Santo Toribio de Liébana. Its significance lies in the presence of the Holy and True Cross, a fragment of the Lignum Crucis that has been documented in Caravaca since 1231. This sacred relic has made the city a pilgrimage destination since the Middle Ages. In 2003, the Holy See granted Caravaca the privilege of celebrating a Jubilee Year every seven years, further strengthening its role as a spiritual hub.
