Paseo por esta bella localidad costera donde descubriremos sus lugares emblemáticos. Recorreremos sus calles conociendo su historia desde su fundación a través de sus edificios emblemáticos. Desde la Torre Mínguez que dio lugar al pueblo pesquero que es hoy, la Academia General del Aire donde se han formado y forman los pilotos de combate españoles, Casa Grande origen del veraneo Ribereño. Palacete modernista del conde de Campillo así como otros edificios destacando su Real Club de Regatas, un edificio cuya arquitectura fue revolucionaria en su tiempo y hoy sigue siendo un ejemplo de vanguardia. Durante el paseo nos acompaña el Mar Menor y podremos disfrutar de las maquetas de los aviones que han hecho historia en la Academia General del Aire. Llegaremos por su gran paseo marítimo a la Ciudad del Aire lugar de residencia de los miembros de la academia, terminando nuestro paseo en la playa de Castillico.

LA MANGA DEL MAR MENOR: "THE ORIGIN OF MAR MENOR" A stroll from the port to the Estacio bridge/canal which enables boat traffic between the Mediterranean Sea and the Mar Menor. We will keep walking to get to the lighthouse where you can learn about its history throughout time. We can see the cistern that supplied water to the lighthouse keepers and their families. Back at the port we will stop to behold the house of the ¿father¿ _of La Manga, Tomas Maestre, as well as the opening of the Estacio bridge/canal. Once the tour has finished you can enjoy the local gastronomy at the different venues in and around the port.

The visit on Sunday April 7 begins at 9.30 alongside Bodegas Castaño on the northern edge of Yecla (click for map), from where participants will make their way in their own vehicles to the start of the walk. The walk itself lasts around 3 hours.All those taking part are advised to bring sturdy footwear, drinking water or juice and a snack.
