Pliego
La ermita está bajo la advocación mariana de la Virgen de Los Remedios. La estructura original del la ermita ha sido remodelada a través de los años. No hay datos sobre la original pero es de suponer que su fundación fuera en el siglo XVI. La actual es de estilo barroco, edificada en el siglo XVIII. Es un edificio de planta basilical con tres naves. La central, más alta que las laterales, permite la iluminación interior. Adosada al edificio en el lateral derecho se puede ver la casa que fue residencia del ermitaño. Actualmente este recinto tiene función de sacristía y salón social. Tanto el interior como el exterior han conservado los volúmenes y líneas primitivas de la construcción original. La fachada triangular, de formas onduladas, está rematada por una espadaña que aloja la campana. En los laterales varios contrafuertes absorben los empujes de la nave central, que está cubierta a dos aguas.

Abanilla
The miraculous apparition of Our Lady and Vera Cruz of Abanilla in the district of Mahoya is the origin of these patron saint festivities. Faith and devotion mark the start of the traditional Romería (Religious pilgrimage) that, currently, is one of the most important festivities in the East of Spain. The access to posts like "Captains", "Lieutenant", "Sergeant" and "Cabin Boy", vital figures of these festivities, is through an auction. Apart from the acts in honour of the Cross, there are some Moors and Christians celebrations completing this way these festivities, which are worth a visit.

It is oriented to the east and counts with a superb view to the village and to the promontory where the Castle of San Juan de Las Águilas is settled. Abundant fine sand, a peaceful and progressive way in to the beach. Protected to the south and the east. It is part of the site known as "Cuatro Calas", designated as "Protected Natural Landscape".

The view is surrounded by two reefs, one of them is black due to the presence of volcanic rocks and the other one is yellow and has fossil remains, constituting a unique environment for geology lovers. It is 5.6 kilometres outside the city, open to the south, and protected against eastern winds by Punta Parda.
